The Ambassador of Spain, His Excellency Ramón Gil-Casares presented Special Agent Thomas Gozzo, OSI Executive Liaison, with the Orden Del Merito Policial with condecoration Cruz Blanca (translated: The police Order of Merit, White Cross).

Gil-Casares said the great liaison success and relationship between Spanish law enforcement and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations was solely due to Gozzo's great liaison initiatives. The ambassador thanked him for always being available to assist, his friendship, and his great smile.

This prestigious Spanish award is rarely given to Americans in the federal law enforcement community and Gozzo is the first American to receive the medal in Washington, D.C. The ceremony was attended by Brig. Gen. Kevin Jacobsen, OSI commander, and other OSI colleagues.

"I'm proud and honored to receive this award from the Spanish ambassador on behalf of OSI," Gozzo said. "It has been my pleasure to work with our Spanish law enforcement partners."
