Special Agent John Wisocky and Special Agent Derek Wright, deployed from Hurlburt Field, Fla. and RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom, respectively, participated in a local holiday celebration in Burkina Faso, a small region located in Western Africa, Dec. 20.

These Air Force Office of Special Investigations agents wrapped 40 presents which were presented to the Burkinabé students at an after school English center in the city of Kaya. The agents were treated to a traditional lunch while the students performed song and dance routines. The event benefited students ranging in age from 7-11.

The center serves as an after school program, and also provides monetary assistance to many impoverished students who could not otherwise afford to attend traditional school. The main purpose of the school is to teach English, in hopes of providing students with future opportunities stemming from their English speaking abilities. The center is widely accepted among locals, and has plans for expansion, including night classes for adults.
