Last night, the House Armed Services Committee paid tribute to the eight Airmen who lost their lives last week in the shooting at Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan. Master Sergeant Tara R. Brown from Headquarters Air Force Office of Special Investigations was listed among the fallen.

Numerous members of the House of Representatives paid tribute to Air Force personnel and one contractor who were killed recently in Afghanistan in what was the largest loss of life for the US Air Force since the Khobar Towers. They are Lieutenant Colonel Frank Bryant, Jr.; Major David Brodeur; Major Phillip Ambard; Major Raymond Estelle; Major Jeffrey Ausborn; Captain Charles Ransom; Captain Nathan Nylander; Retired Lieutenant Colonel James A. McLaughlin; Technical Sergeant Tara Brown; and Private First Class Jonathan Villanueva.

Congressional Representative Richmond (D-LA) paid tribute to Master Sergeant Tara R. Brown.

"She began her military career in 1997, at the Kadena Air Force Base in Japan as an administrative clerk, quickly mastering her skills in communications and embracing a love of travel and adventure. Master Sergeant Brown completed assignments to Germany, Turkey, Alaska, and Korea before taking charge in numerous high-level communications positions at Andrews Air Force Base right down the street," Congressman Richmond said.

The congressman then repeated the names of all nine individuals who were killed and named in Congressional Record H2291 dated May 3, 2011.

Later, this information was sent to Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force.
