AFOSI inducts SES, new executive director

Brigadier General Dana Simmons, Air Force Office of Special Investigations commander, hosted an induction ceremony for AFOSI's newest executive director, Mr. Michael Janosov, March 19, in the AFOSI Headquarters rotunda, Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Mr. Janosov is AFOSI's fifth executive director. He replaces Mr. Doug Thomas who retired last year.

Mr. Janosov serves as the Deputy to the AFOSI Commander, oversees the headquarters staff, field operations, the AFOSI Special Investigations Career Program, and is responsible for executive level policy coordination, liaison, and representation to national and international organizations. Mr. Janosov is also the Functional Manager for the Criminal Investigations Career Field.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Janosov was the Director of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Office of Special Projects, Bolling AFB, DC. He was responsible for operational control over twelve geographically separated units providing specialized investigative, counterintelligence and program security management support for Air Force Special Access Programs. In this capacity, Mr. Janosov concurrently served as the Security Director to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition.
