In September, the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, to include the Air Force Office of Special Investigations EDet. 2405 team, honored the 62nd anniversary of our Air Force through a variety of events at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan.

On Sept. 13, members from Expeditionary Detachment 2405 successfully knocked out a 13.1 mile run with approximately 600 other Airmen and Soldiers Sept. 13.

Expeditionary Detachment 2405 also participated in the Air Force's 62nd Anniversary, Sept. 18, in an event hosted by Brig. Gen. Steven Kwast, 455th AEW commander, on the flightline of Bagram Air Field.

Alongside a static display of various aircraft assigned to the 455th AEW, the detachment had a chance to interact with Airmen from the wing and talk about general career and recruiting queries.

It was a memorable and successful event as in the middle of the events the detachment received great news. Staff Sgt. Wes Nickels and Airman 1st Class Junior Ramirez were respectively selected as the 455th EMSG NCO Defender of the Month and 455th AEW Airman Defender of the Month.

General Kwast personally recognized and coined Airman Ramirez for his dedication to duty and real impact he's making in the battlespace.
