QUANTICO, Va. -- The Air Force Office of Special Investigations took home half of all categories in the 2025 Department of War (DoW) Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Awards, winning nine of 18.
The recognition comes on the heels of AFOSI personnel earning additional DoW-level honors in the 2026 Law Enforcement Awards, taking home three of eight categories. Those winners included Special Agent Jade Kessler, Special Agent Ashley Maroufi and Kolin Fischer.
According to AFOSI’s top leaders, each of the department-level recognitions highlight AFOSI’s continued excellence in counterintelligence operations, analysis, collection, technical surveillance countermeasures and supply chain risk protection.
“These awards are more than individual and team achievements,” said Brig. Gen. Amy Bumgarner, AFOSI’s commander. “They represent the operational impact AFOSI delivers across the counterintelligence mission every day.”
For the nine recent winners, a formal awards ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 3, 2026, at Defense Intelligence Agency Headquarters, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.
