The murder of Julie Snodgrass (pictured) was solved by OSI agents utilizing the disk-splicing technique after the suspect shredded the floppy disks which contained evidence of the crime. These disks were used to convict the suspect of first-degree murder and sentence him to life in prison. (Photo courtesy Forensic Files)
