The Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) is a North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) unit based in Rome, N.Y., that covers Air Defense for Eastern North America, including the National Capital Region. It's manned mostly by national guard personnel that are only on active duty when their feet are physically on the “floor” of the watch center.
