April 26, 2022 Col. Forest Singhoff, OSI’s ninth commander, dies at 94 Retired Col. Forest Singhoff, the ninth Office of Special Investigations commander, died April 24 2022, at 94, his family announced. Singhoff served as OSI’s top boss from April 1977 to May 1980, when officials wanted to merge it into Air Force Security Forces and rebrand it as a “detective squad.”

The Spangdahlem Air Base offender, was sentenced to 34 months confinement, reduced in grade to E-1, given a dishonorable discharge and a reprimand.
