Air Force Office of Special Investigations Special Agent Jae Yoon received word of his latest promotion March 27, but he didn't get it the usual way - through e-mail or from his supervisor. A fellow agent requested that Secretary of the Air Force Michael B. Donley personally give the good news to Yoon, and the Secretary agreed.

"I was extremely shocked when I received the notification from the SECAF," Yoon said. "I'd like to thank our detachment leadership and Special Agent Lee Ballard for the surprise notification. It was another moment to feel glad that I am with the OSI family."

Yoon was detailed to Donley as a member of his protective service team when he got the news. He's assigned to OSI Detachment 111, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.

"We have a great team here," Yoon said. "SA Aaron Sullivan and SA William Green try hard to take care of us, get the mission done, and have fun. We also have a great mission on this base and I've definitely enjoyed this assignment."

The only question left is how he will receive the news of his next promotion.
